About This Recipe

This Sichuan-style fish recipe is a bold and flavorful dish that combines fresh fish with the spicy, tangy kick of pickled vegetables and homemade chili sauce. The fish is first marinated with scallions, ginger, and cooking wine to enhance its natural sweetness, then simmered in a rich broth infused with aromatic Sichuan peppercorns, lard, and fermented bean paste. The star of the dish is the homemade chili sauce—blended pickled peppers and garlic—adding depth and heat. Pickled vegetables, ginger, and peppers bring a delightful sour-spicy balance, while a touch of black pepper rounds out the flavors. Quick to prepare yet packed with complexity, this dish is perfect for those who love fiery, umami-rich meals. Serve it hot for an unforgettable dining experience!
