Golden Roll

These golden meat rolls are a savory delight, combining tender pork slices with fresh vegetables like enoki mushrooms, carrots, spinach, and scallions for a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The meat is rolled tightly around crisp, blanched greens and pan-fried to perfection, creating plump, juicy rolls with a satisfying bite. What makes this dish stand out is the rich golden sauce—a spicy-sweet blend of bean paste, soy sauce, and aromatic spices—that coats each roll in a glossy, flavorful glaze. Cooked low and slow for maximum tenderness, these meat rolls are crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with vibrant veggies peeking through. Whether sliced or served whole, they’re a visually stunning and delicious meal that’s easy to customize with your favorite sauce variations. Perfect for a cozy dinner or an impressive appetizer!

Step 1
The bought meat is a bit thick, and the effect after finishing is not as good as the thin meat slices, but it’s not bad either. This one has a bit of fat, but it’s not greasy.
Step 1

Step 2
Prepare the ingredients, including enoki mushrooms, carrots, spinach, and scallions.
Step 2

Step 3
First, process the spinach by washing it clean and blanching it in water. You can also use other greens. The cooked spinach is smooth.
Step 3

Step 4
Cut the scallions and carrots into segments, and wash the enoki mushrooms clean. Separate them and prepare all the ingredients.
Step 4

Step 5
After preparing all the ingredients, start rolling them up. Lay the meat slices flat, and place the scallions, carrots, and other ingredients on top of the meat. The amount depends on the length of the meat slices.
Step 5

Step 6
Then, tightly wrap the ingredients in the meat, and roll them up into plump meat rolls.
Step 6

Step 7
Continue rolling until you have a plate of plump and cute meat rolls.

Step 8
Here, I used a sauce called golden sauce, which is why it’s called golden meat rolls. I chose the spicy flavor, but the sauce is not very spicy. If you don’t have this sauce, you can make your own by mixing a small amount of bean paste, soy sauce, salt, sugar, vinegar, chicken essence, and a small amount of water. You can also add chili pepper or chili oil if you like spicy food, or tomato sauce if you prefer a sweet flavor.
Step 8

Step 9
Then, pan-fry the meat rolls over low heat, and be patient.
Step 9
10
Step 10
Slowly cook the meat until it changes color, and flip the meat rolls over. Wait until the meat is fully cooked and firm, and don’t stir-fry too much at the beginning.
Step 10
11
Step 11
Then, pour a layer of golden sauce over the meat rolls, and continue cooking over low heat.
Step 11
12
Step 12
The meat rolls are sizzling and rolling around, fully coated in the sauce.
Step 12
13
Step 13
Cook until the sauce is gone, and the meat rolls are fully colored. I like them to be a bit darker, and then they’re done.
Step 13
14
Step 14
After all the meat rolls are cooked, arrange them on a plate, and they look delicious.
Step 14

Step 15
Because the meat I chose was a bit thick, the meat rolls are plump after rolling. You can cut them open to see the vegetables inside, or leave them whole.
