Prepare the ingredients. I used store-bought lean pork paste to save time. Soak the glutinous rice in water for over 2 hours in advance.

Add an egg white, chopped scallions, ginger, light soy sauce, chicken essence, and a pinch of salt to the pork paste. Mix well in a clockwise direction and finally add a few drops of sesame oil.

Use your hands or a small spoon to shape the mixed pork paste into small balls. Roll them in the glutinous rice to coat evenly and place the balls on a plate.

Steam the balls in a steamer for 20 minutes after the water boils, and they are ready to be served.
