Shaxian Braised Pork and Egg

Indulge in rich, aromatic Five-Flower Pork Braised Eggs—a deeply flavorful dish where tender pork and eggs soak up a fragrant blend of spices overnight. This recipe combines five-flower pork and eggs in a savory broth infused with scallions, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon, galangal, bay leaves, and red chili peppers for a bold, warming taste. The magic happens when the ingredients simmer in old broth and soy sauce, then slow-braise to perfection—either in a pot or an electric rice cooker for convenience. After cooking, letting it sit overnight allows the eggs and pork to absorb every drop of the spiced braising liquid, resulting in an irresistibly rich and tender finish. Perfect as a hearty meal or a flavorful side, this dish is a must-try for lovers of slow-cooked, aromatic comfort food. Enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth pork and deeply seasoned eggs—each bite is packed with umami depth!

After the eggs are cooked, remove them from the pot, peel off the shells, and put them back into the pot with the braising liquid. Transfer everything to an electric rice cooker and turn on the soup function to braise (this step can also be done directly in the pot without changing it, but I did it to save gas).
