Spicy Hot Pot

Spicy Hot Pot

This delicious and hearty stir-fry combines tender fish balls, crispy potatoes, and fresh kale for a satisfying meal packed with bold flavors. The dish starts by cooking the fish balls until perfectly tender, then sautéing scallions and bell peppers in a rich blend of bean paste and hot pot base for a deep, umami kick. Thinly sliced potatoes are added first to ensure they cook through, followed by hand-torn kale for a rustic touch. The extra oil helps meld the flavors together, creating a luscious, slightly spicy sauce that coats every bite. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a comforting weekend meal, this recipe is a flavorful twist on classic stir-fry, with a balance of textures and a savory, aromatic finish. Enjoy the harmony of tender fish balls, crisp veggies, and bold seasonings in every mouthwatering bite!

Instructions

1. Step 1

Step 1
Cook the fish balls, cut the scallions into sections, and chop the potatoes and kale (I torn the kale by hand).

2. Step 2

Add more oil to the pot than usual, and when the oil is hot, add the bean paste and hot pot base.

3. Step 3

Add the scallion sections and bell peppers to the pot and stir-fry.

4. Step 4

I was afraid that the potato slices would not cook thoroughly if they were cut too thick, so I added them first, and then added the remaining ingredients.
